Prep time: 25 minutes | Cook time: 15 minutes | Serves: 3 serving ( 7-8 paratha)

Ingredients (Required For Methi Parantha)

  1. 1 cup of whole wheat flour
  2. 1 cup of finely chopped fenugreek leaves
  3. ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  4. 1 teaspoon paste of green chilli
  5. ½ teaspoon paste of ginger
  6. 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder
  7. 2 tablespoons of curd
  8. 1 tablespoon of oil
  9. Salt to taste

Process of Making Methi Paratha

#01 Pluck methi leaves from stems.

#02 Now add plucked leaves in a bowl and wash well at least for 2 to 3 times with water so that the dirt or debris is dissolved and separated.

#03 Now finely chopped the cleaned leaves of methi

#04 Add whole wheat flour, cumin seeds, ginger/chilli paste, red chilli powder, curd, 1 tablespoon of oil, finely chopped methi leaves and salt in a large bowl. Mix well.

#05 Add water as required to knead to smooth and soft dough as we do to make chapatti.

#06 Put little bit of oil all over the dough and cover with a cloth for 20 minutes.

#07 Knead the dough again and divide it into 7 or 8 equal portions to make a round shape like ball and press it between your palms.

#08 Take ½ cup of dry wheat flour in a small plate. Now take one pattie and coat it with dry wheat flour and place it over a rolling board.

#09 Roll it into circle as we do to make normal paratha. Spread few drops of oil over one half portion using a spoon or brush, fold it into a half a circle, again spread few drops of oil over it and fold it into a triangle.

#10 Coat the triangle shaped pattie with dry wheat flour and roll it out into a thin triangle.

#11 Heat the tava over medium flame. Once it heat, place rolled paratha over it. Once tiny bubbles start to appear on the surface, flip the paratha and spread ½ teaspoon of oil evenly on the surface with the help of spatula.

#12 Once tiny bubbles start to appear on the surface, flip the paratha and spread ½ teaspoon of oil evenly on the surface with the help of spatula.

#13 Transfer it to a plate. Repeat the same process with rest other dough patties. Here you are ready with methi ka paratha, sever it with pickle or hot masala tea.
