Today’s fast-paced life has increased the risk of knee pain. Every individual be it of any age has complaint of knee pain. It is a very common medical condition. The main cause includes constant wear and tear of the knee joint. Women are more vulnerable to knee pain than men.

These home care tips also help reduce knee pain aroused due to age factor or conditions like arthritis.

Cold Compress

Apply cold compresses to the painful knee. It reduces pain and swelling. Wrap a handful of ice cubes in a thin towel. Apply it to the affected area for 10 to 20 minutes. Do it for thrice daily till the pain is gone completely.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar reduces knee pain. Mix two teaspoons of the vinegar in two cups of filtered water. Sip it throughout the day. Do it daily until you recover.

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper possesses capsaicin, which relieves pain. The natural analgesic properties of the pepper produce a warm sensation and decrease pain. Add two tablespoons of cayenne pepper powder in one-half cup of warm olive oil. Make a paste. Apply it on the affected area. Repeat it twice daily for at least one week.

Ginger

Ginger is an excellent option to alleviate knee pain. No matter the pain is caused by muscle, arthritis, strain or injury. Crush a small piece of ginger root. Add it to one cup of water. Boil the water for 10 minutes. Mix lemon juice and a little honey into it. Drink two to three cups daily until you get relief.

Turmeric

Turmeric is also an effective way to lower knee pain. Take one-half teaspoon of turmeric and ground ginger. Add them to a cup of water. Boil it for 10 minutes. Mix honey for taste. Take it twice daily. You will feel your pain is reducing slowly.
