Well now a days we already have ready-made instant rava idli pack available in market required adding some water only and steaming. But again nothing can take place of original taste.

Rava Idli Recipe

Ingredients (Required For Rava Idli)

  1. 1 cup rava (semolina / suji)
  2. ½ teaspoon of mustard seeds
  3. ½ teaspoon of cumin seeds
  4. Pinch of asafetida (hing)
  5. 1 teaspoon chana dal (gram dal)
  6. 1 teaspoon urad dal (black split lentils without husk)
  7. 1-2 curry leaves
  8. 1 dry red chilli
  9. 6-7 cashew nuts (broken into pieces)
  10. 1/3 cup of thick yogurt (curd/dahi)
  11. ½ cup grated carrot
  12. 2 finely chopped green chillies
  13. 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
  14. 1 1/3 cup of water
  15. 2 finely chopped coriander leaves
  16. 1 teaspoon of eno
  17. 2 ½ tablespoon oil or ghee
  18. Salt to taste
