There are various kinds of pancakes but we will know about a traditional potato pancake recipe not doubt its appealing texture and delicious flavor can attract any one of us to have. Well this homemade potato cakes specially required grated potato, all purpose flour and onion.

Potato Pancakes Recipe

Prep time: 10 minute Cook time: 20 minutes | Serves: 6 pancakes

Ingredients (Required For Potato Pancakes)

  1. 2 large peeled and grated Yukon gold potatoes
  2. 2 small or 1 large grated onions
  3. 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
  4. 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander
  5. 1 teaspoons of black pepper
  6. 4 tablespoon of cooking oil
  7. Salt to taste

Process of Making Potato Pancakes

#01 Place peeled and grated potatoes in a bowl.

#02 Wash the grated potatoes 2 to 3 times using water. Now drain the excess of water by squeezing them out. Place them in a strainer and press as much as possible with the help of spoon so that you could remove excess of liquid.

#03 Now add finely grated onion and chopped coriander with grated potato. Mix them well and add all purpose flour, black paper and salt to taste and mix well.

#04 Pre heat a heavy skillet over medium flame; now add oil as mentioned above or as per your requirement.

#05 Divide the mixture in to 7 equal portions. Press every single portion lightly with the help of your hand and fingers to give flatten and round in shape

#06 Now place 2 to 3 pancakes gently in a pan and allow it fry on medium flame. When you will notice the edges of the bottom surface starts tuning brown. Turn it upside down. Allow it shallow fry for 2 to 3 minutes until the other side gets golden brown.

#07 Now remove it from the skillet and place on a kitchen paper to absorb excess of oil. Repeat the same process with the remaining mixture.

#08 Add more oil if it is required for frying rest portion of mixture.

#09 Serve delicious and crispy potato pancakes with chutney or hot tea.
